After reading all of the reviews for Harry Potter gear for the kids, I was expecting a shabby piece of cloth with spray paint on it. Perhaps expecting the worst made getting a nice, high-quality item that much better. And the bottom line is that the robe made my daughter amazingly happy. She wore it for days as she watched the movies a few more times than sanity should allow for. It looks the part and made her warm on the inside and outside. It does exactly what a kid’s costume item should do.
This is a very nicely made robe of warm fleece (although my daughter said she wished she had the cheaper, thinner version like her friend!). The sizes are off, though, so although I assumed a medium would fit my 9-year-old daughter, it was too small. I returned it to get a large, even though that sounded way too big. It fits great.
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas and he loved it. He didn’t take it off all day. It was much nicer fabric than I expected and put together very well. I also got him the glasses and the broom and he had a blast.
We were very pleased with this version of the Harry Potter Children’s Robe. It was worth the price. It was made nice for a Halloween costume. (a nice fleece like material) My son loves it. The only thing that didn’t work was the clip to hold it together, but that was not a big deal and an easy fix.
The product is very nice felt type material – actually will be like a nice jacket on a cool brisk halloween night. Quality is better than expected for a mail order costume. Nothing like the cheap “don’t get near a fire” material you find on racks at stores. I would highly recommend spending the few extra bucks to get this over the entry level costume (although I personally have not seen that one, I don’t think they could make it much nicer than this for about $30). It is especially worth the extra $ if your child plays dress up or is the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world and will wear it night and day.
This robe is great! Very nice, thick, soft fabric. The clasp didn’t keep the robe together very well, but I just put a quick stitch in it and all was well. My daughter absolutely loved dressing up as Hermione for Halloween, and will continue to use this robe for playing!
Exactly what we wanted. Maybe a little pricier than it should be, but worth it for my 7-year-old. Looks just like the real thing, and should last us quite a while for imaginary-play at home!
The ‘small’ size for this robe is more than adequate for my medium sized six year old. The heavier material of this costume does make it look and feel more like an authentic robe. The elongated hood is a sweet detail as well as is the robe clasp and the embroidered crest. This costume will surely hold up over the test of time much longer than a nylon one for sure! Warmer and less static clingly too! Thank you!
This costume is awesome. I don’t know why some people were saying it was made of cheap material. It’s made of a very nice, thick and durable material and my daughter wears it everywhere, including when she’s climbing trees and rolling on the ground (yes, she has quite the imagination). Perhaps, the manufacturer started making them a little better after seeing some of the earlier reviews (I don’t know). But, it’s a nice-looking costume and very well-made, ESPECIALLY for the price. I think I got mine for under $25. Oh, my daughter is, well, a little “petite” so we had to take up the bottom a little so it didn’t drag. Even though the material is nice and thick, it was easy to hem it up (only took a couple minutes). Also, I ordered it 3 days before Christmas and used the standard shipping and got it on Christmas Eve (in 2 days), so speedy delivery too. Great buy!
